Construction Update

This week construction on the gym continued as the crews completed installation of the stage, basketball nets, and curtain. The flooring is scheduled to be installed next week. Work on the new Kindergarten wing, the new multipurpose room, and the new 2-story addition continued. Plumbing, electrical, drywall, and flooring of the Kindergarten wing is coming up. 

Completion of Online Forms

Please visit the Parent Portal to complete the Verification Form, the Technology Agreement, and the Media Consent forms using the following link: https://www.ocsb.ca/parents/parent-portal/. 

Students need to have all three forms completed each year.

School Photos

School Photos will take place October 9th.

Student Arrivals

Please be aware that students are not to be on the yard before supervision starts at 9:05AM. Students should not be opening the gate and letting themselves into the yard until there is an educator at the gate to welcome them to school. 

Students who arrive late to school are to come to the front office with a parent to sign them in so we can welcome them and ensure their attendance is updated appropriately.

Parent Community Presentation: Paul Davis

Sacred Heart High School is pleased to welcome Paul Davis on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. for a presentation to the parent community. Parents from St. Philip School are welcome to attend.

Paul will explore important topics related to students’ online lives, including smartphones, social media, cyberbullying, and online gaming.

We encourage parents and guardians to attend this informative evening and learn more about supporting their children in navigating the digital world safely and responsibly.

Hot Lunch

Hot Lunch ordering is NOW AVAILABLE through School Cash Online! 

The first term will start the week of October 13th (after Thanksgiving); Tuesdays for Lunch Lady and Thursdays for Jojo’s Pizza and will run for 10 weeks. Orders must be placed by October 2nd. No late orders can be accepted. Please be mindful that these programs are run by volunteers who are giving their time and energy to provide this service. We appreciate all your support and understanding.

New to the hot lunch program? Allow us to explain it!

We do one ordering per ‘term’. Term 1 is from Thanksgiving to Christmas break, Term 2 is from New Year’s to March break and Term 3 is from March break to the end of the year. There is typically a one-week ordering window and then it takes time for our hot lunch team to do their organizing, paperwork and coordinating with vendors. Once an order is placed, it cannot be changed for the term. If the program falls on a ‘snow day’, the lunch program will automatically be moved to the next school day. We do not provide refunds if your child is absent for hot lunch. 

Hot lunch is delivered by our dedicated hot lunch program volunteers. If there is ever a problem, please encourage your child to connect with one of our volunteers onsite. Issues can often be resolved in the moment. 

If you miss the ordering window for a term, you will have to wait for the following term. We understand that this may cause frustration or disappointment, but we cannot accept late orders. We are serving hundreds of students with this program, and it is run by a small team of volunteers who are busy parents just like you, with other work and life commitments. If we accommodate one late order, we must accommodate them all, and this is an unfair ask of these volunteers who already dedicated hours, weeks and months to this program. We thank you in advance for understanding that this is a firm and final decision.

Parish Update

Bingo lasagna family night October 24th at 6pm. $40 for bingo and lasagna dinner.

Grades 2 and 6 sacraments, meeting next Wednesday, September 30th.

Mabel’s Labels

We’re fundraising with Mabel’s Labels again this year.

For those of you who don’t know about the program, Mabel’s Labels is a fun and convenient way to label your kiddos’ belongings. Their labels are waterproof, dishwasher safe, laundry safe and they offer free standard shipping! There are many different package options to get you what you need.

Next Parent Council Meeting

Monday, October 19, 2026, at 6:30pm in the learning commons. All are welcome to attend and *childcare available on site. (*must register ahead of time for proper ratios). Our October meeting typically runs longer than usual because we review our 2026-2027 budget. This is a great meeting to attend to learn about and provide your input on events and initiatives for the year!
